OUR ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT GOALS

CO2 Reduction

We aim to achieve net-zero CO2 emissions across by 2050 in line with the Paris Agreement. This involves consistent action across our entire business from operations, manufacturing and transportation to product design and packaging.

We have set near term goals for 2030 and have submitted our goals to SBTi for transparency and to meet our environmental impact goals

Circular Business

Our ambition is to become a circular business. Where every single product and material is designed, created, reused, repaired, and recycled in a closed loop.

We are striving towards 100% recyclable and reusable consumables across B2B and B2C.

Partner for Change

We foster partnerships and work closely with our customers, business partners, industry peers and bodies to help drive widescale impact on positive climate action.

We use the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a framework for coordinating our climate efforts, and report against these annually.

Educational and youth programmes

Young people deserve and need to have a voice in shaping the future of our world looks like. We empower young people to share their story through imaging in collaboration with NGOs and with the support of our Canon Ambassadors.

Our Young People Programme has seen many impactful young people and we expect to see many more.

    Canon has been recognised with the EcoVadis Gold Rating for its sustainability efforts for seven consecutive years, which places Canon within the top 5% of companies globally

  • BlueAngel

    Most of Canon’s products have been awarded with the Blue Angel ecolabel from the German Federal Government

  • ISO 14001

    As of 2020, ISO 14001 consolidated certification covers Canon Inc. as well as 124 Group companies in 40 countries (593 operational sites) and regions around the world
